Mumbai : Raj wadgama became first Indian, who completed 222 km Ultra Marathon in 47 hours. Other 3 Indians were also successfully completed this run. In very challenging conditions like high altitude 10,000 ft to 17,000 ft, Extreme weather, Raj Vadgama and other 3 people completed this Run. Route for this Run was South Pullu - Leh - Kharsu - Warila pass - Serthi.
This one is longest route at World's toughest high altitude, Ultra Killer uphills and never ending downhills.
Climbing 'Wari la' around 16,000 ft was very challenging, even after being on route for 40 hours , last 4 km was equivalent to a Half Marathon,said Raj Wadgama. 'It's really all in the mind... several times I thought I should stop', he added.
'There was lots of other motivating factors on route. A 17 years Jyotsana ran with his 56 years old father,I told myself I better prepare myself so Ariana should be proud of his dad.Another amazing sight was Mrs.Handa crewing for Sunil Handa and running with him',he mentioned.
'Ultra Marathons are like long challenging Meditation,you are with yourself.Best time to find youself. no other option to be honest with yourself because you are too tired to fool yourself', expressed Raj wadgama.
